We had a good experience at Masaba Hilltop Hotel last year but this year the hotel has new management and more issues. My room is pretty good -- other than no hot water (no water at all coming out of the hot water line) window screens and mosquito net are intact, toilet flushes, working fan, and even a TV with 2 channels that aren't always playing Spanish soap operas dubbed into English :-).
Lisa has had the worst luck -- her first room had no lights. After taking a day to realize they couldn't fix that, they switched her to another room where the toilet wouldnt flush and then later overflowed while we were at the school. After a failed attempt to fix that she is now in her third room. Fingers crossed.
It is fairly typical here for there to be problems with the rooms that the management knows about but is either unwilling to fix or not provided the funds to fix.
Oops -- the power just went out! But this hotel has a generator so the lights came right back on again.
The picture shows the mosquito net hanging above my bed as well as my shower with no shower curtain. Got to get used to a wet floor in the morning.
